I can't seem to wrap my mind around this issue. I know it's something to do with automation, arming options, and maybe something about these midi complaints in reaper.
For recording midi in reaper, something like a hammond organ vst has all these automation controls that are constantly changing, like the pedals and drawbars.
when you record, reaper will save all the input keys, pedal changes, etc. but it's just the changes. If I later on change the drawbar settings, and then replay the song from the beginning, now the drawbars in the beginning are starting off at whatever i changed it at the end. etc.
i am not understanding something here. I want the entire state of the instrument saved at any given moment. that way, when i place the cursor at a random spot, the midi settings are all there just the way it was recorded, no matter what all changed in the meantime.
