M32 Master Fader and DCA volume cut

For about a year and a half I have been using Reaper with an M32 to track live shows coming through our venue (and personal stuff). Unfortunately I didn't check it right away after the most recent Reaper update and system update so I don't have a good point of reference.

The issue is that when I hook up my computer through firewire, when I load Reaper, when the session opens the master fader will drop to a minimum value (somewhere just below -50db) as well as some of the DCA faders will raise to about the same level (even though they start at -infinity normally).

I wouldn't have an issue if I could just bring the master fader up, but when I do that, the fader will jump back down.

I'm curious since I everything I try to search (Reaper overriding mixer, Mixer muting with reaper on, etc.) I can't see to find anything. I'm curious if anyone has an idea of what is causing this? I went in and made sure to remove any control surfaces added, there isn't any midi interaction, and for those who know the m32 interface, I turned off the DAW remote option.

Thanks so much for your time and for reading this. Additionally, thank you anyone who may have a response.
