A standard feature of multi-track drum editing is the ability to analyze the transients of multiple tracks simultaneously, and then to split all grouped tracks at each of the transients found.
As discussed in the thread Will we ever have native multitrack drum editing?, the "Split selected and grouped items" option of REAPER's Dynamic Split does not work as expected:
I'm not sure whether this a new regression, or whether has the feature never been properly implemented, but the issue seems to date back to at least 2010. Schwa himself commented in the thread Dynamic Split bug, "split grouped items" breaks easily:
And from 2014 there is the thread Unexpected Dynamic Split Behavior on Groups:

I dont mean that i cant cut/split multiple grouped tracks with dynamic split
i mean that i cant detect transients in multiple tracks at the same time for example : the transients of the kick/snare and tom tracks at the same time. you have to choose one of them or consolidate all the tracks into one and use that one as guide |

EDIT: So it seems to work just fine for inserting stretch markers, meaning choosing multiple tracks for transient detection and affecting grouped items. However it doesnt seem to work when doing splits. I would assume this is a bug that needs fixing.

Maybe I'm not setting it up properly but it looks like grouped, unselected items only get the splits from the first selected item that is grouped with them. Similar to how grouped, selected items only get the splits from themselves, not from other items that are grouped with them.

Seems that Dynamic Split has issues when using multiple tracks for transients.
As a workaround, I find it works if I select one track at a time and split, i.e., splitting three times for each of my three best transient tracks. Alternatively, I bet rendering the three tracks to a stem and splitting based on that would work, too. |
Dynamic split: "Split selected and grouped items" does not split at all transients
