When I had an opportunity to watch a good production team in action I saw they recorded a pilot lead, then the backs, then the real lead vocal. And that's the way I've always tried to do it.
I now have a client who is insisting on doing the lead first. We already have a pilot.
When its done this way I've found that the end result lead is not as expressive as it could be. Sounds "stock".
What do you guys do? And help me try and explain it to her.
