Reaper Support vs PreSonus Support

I frequently take a long time to evaluate products before making a purchase. This is one reason I purchased Reaper, the pretty much unlimited evaluation version, plus ease of installation. Plus, it's a great DAW, of course. Whenever I've had a problem, issue, or just a question about Reaper, it's been answered and resolved almost immediately.

I also purchased an older version of Studio One, and when a new version was released I wanted to give it a test since there are things that I like about it, mainly the default user experience without having to configure a hundred things. However, I ran into problems activating the demo because it expects to be connected to the web. The work around is to copy a code, take it to an internet computer, log into PreSonus, get another code, take it back to the Studio computer and activate it. Easy enough if the computers are in close proximity, but when the studio computer is not on the Internet and located in another building on your property, it becomes a hassle. Especially when it doesn't work the first time and you need to contact PreSonus support. I gave up on that attempt, but when PreSonus released another new version today, I wanted to give it another try, especially since the studio computer is now online. The demo period has expired even though I didn't use it. So, I requested an extension of the demo period. The response from PreSonus was that they had "already extended the demo period once."

I'll be sending my money to upgrade to Reaper 5 today. Studio One upgrades will no longer be considered, and I have removed the version I purchased from the computer. I'm also getting ready to upgrade my audio interface. You can guess which products I've ruled out.

Just my personal experience.
