I just recently installed 5.23 x64 on my machine and Windows 10 crashed twice with an out of memory error. The first time I thought it was the hardware as this has never happened before.
Looking up logs, I found reaper uses all memory (16Gb) over time and keeps on going and eventually the machine runs out of swap and the OS crashes. The error message in the log is:
Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: reaper.exe (10008) consumed 9801035776 bytes, MsMpEng.exe (3304) consumed 216268800 bytes, and svchost.exe (1092) consumed 94146560 bytes.
This happens after an hour or so of Reaper 5.23 is running (not necessarily using it - just sitting the background).
I've re-installed 5.22 and the issue goes away - same project - same time. Usage is about 12Gb for the project.
Same project/hardware/VSTs.
I can't tell what's causing this but re-installing 5.23 makes the issue re-occur so I can only conclude something is allocating memory non-stop in 5.23 that doesn't happen on 5.22.
Thanks!
