OK, here's the current behavior. what happens is this:
1- you record notes in the MIDI editor with a looping time selection
2- you hold a note over the loop point.
3- ISSUE: new note ons are created on the loop start position.
4- OPTION REQUEST: do not do this. instead, place the NOTEOFFS where they would land if there was no loop in place.
this is an option that exists in the MPC series.
trailing duration (requested behavior) is much more "musical" and conducive to composing full songs, whereas new note ons (current behavior) is more suited for live looping or loop composition. i like to have total control over my NOTEONS, i don't want anything recording NOTEONs into my midi tracks unless i say so.
