I'm a fairly recent user of Reaper (about 1 year) and one of the mysteries I have with the current 5.2x releases is how MIDI looping seems to work.
When I first create a new MIDI item, the default is loop right (the gray bar lets me loop the item by extending to the right.
However, when I copy a MIDI track, or toggle the loop property on/off, Reaper in many cases wants me to loop left (gray bar is now on the left).
When it does that, and I'm still not certain how this shift happened - I find myself having to create a new MIDI item and copy the notes over for the loop right to work "normally" again.
My ignorance probably shows but I would like to control the loop right / loop left behavior when I toggle loop mode, and not have Reaper assume, and assume incorrectly, what I want to do.
This is maddening because of the amount of effort involved in making it loop in the correct direction again, especially after significant editing.
